Loneliness in the World

We live in a loneliness-producing world. Just look around. Computers and technology. Mobility, people moving from place to place. Shopping malls filled with restless people. Machines replacing humans. Money used to buy intimacy or companionship in bars and night clubs. Even in homes and churches, people avoid each other. Dehumanizing influences, rapid changes, abound in our world today that discourage community and stimulate loneliness.

The world concludes that the only solution to loneliness is human contact or companionship. It fails to recognize that there is something deeper. You can have all the friends in the world, be close to family, or the counseling/psychological services you want to address your loneliness. But if you do not know Christ or are disconnected from God due to sin, you lack the relationship that matters the most in this temporary life. There is such a thing as "existential loneliness," a spiritual loneliness and vacuum in the heart of every human being that can only be filled by a personal relationship with God.

Christ understands my loneliness. Your loneliness, our loneliness. He experienced it Himself while He was with us. He promised that He will never leave us nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). He will stand at our side and give us strength (2 Tim 4: 17). Cheers!

A Vision for Filipino Global Migrant Mission

"Impressive!" "Your presentation is very good to me." "Great speech." "You opened our eyes about how God is using the Filipino diaspora."

These are some comments I received after a successful speech at an international forum in Seoul, Korea. They also published a paper I wrote for them in their book. Praise God!
