Stand the Mountains

You and I could probably list many mountains we are now facing. Relational. Financial. Emotional. Career or Job directions. Familial. Spiritual. The list may go on and on. The greatest danger is when any of these mountains begin to block our growth permanently. When they begin to immobilize us toward our journey for health, wholeness, and healing. The truth is, all mountains are conquered slowly. There's no quick climb. That's why my prayer to God has been "Lord, I face a mountain, do not let me quit! Give me the strength and wisdom I need to keep on climbing over and find a pass through. And if my best efforts still won't work, give me the patience to stay to turn the mountains into a gold mine with your blessings." St. Paul asks, "If God is for us, who can be against us?" It's a question you and I should ask ourselves when faced with mountains in our lives. All mountains in our pathway are conquerable with His power.

Philippians 4:11

I found the biblical teaching on contentment especially helpful this morning. “I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content” (Phil. 4:11). Commentaries say the words “have learned” are in a construction. This speaks of entrance into a new condition. Paul may had not always known contentment. He may had been reared in the lap of luxury, and had not known "hungry times" as a young man.... Interesting to note that some of the richest people in the world have no money while some of the poorest people have material wealth beyond imagination.... As for me and my family, we never lacked anything we need. But contentment is always something my family needs to learn amid a different spirit (e.g. "covetousness," envy," materialism, consumerism etc.) prevailing around us. Since I became a Christian, I'd enjoyed a simple, godly lifestyle while serving the Lord. But this "learning" won't come about by sheer grace. God continues to test us to stop shopping and read His Word! Our bodies are the temple of God. We are body, mind, and soul. When all three are in harmony, like the Trinity, true wealth that only Lord can provide will fill our days.

You Raise Me Up (Josh Groban)

When I am down and, oh my soul, so weary;
When troubles come and my heart burdened be;
Then, I am still and wait here in the silence,
Until you come and sit awhile with me.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up... To more than I can be.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up... To more than I can be.

There is no life - no life without its hunger;
Each restless heart beats so imperfectly;
But when you come and I am filled with wonder,
Sometimes, I think I glimpse eternity.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up... To more than I can be.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up... To more than I can be.

You raise me up... To more than I can be.

Internet Addiction

I enclosed an article published in 2000 entitled, "Is Internet Addiction Real?" Today, we do have more research, more findings, and more clinical treatment settings devoted to Internet addiction recovery. I thought it would be interesting to explore it myself and share some things to you.

One of the true signs of addiction is that a person experiences negative consequences as a result of something, whatever it may be - alcohol, drugs, sex, an affair, food, chemical, etc. With alcohol and drugs, a few common consequences are DUIs, jail time, and the loss of a job and/or relationship. A natural consequence for sex addicts is catching STDs. What are the consequences of Internet addiction?

In August 2005, a 28-year-old South Korean man died – not by committing suicide, but after playing the game Starcraft at an Internet café for 50 hours straight. By all reports, the man had not slept properly and had eaten very little in that time. While no autopsy was performed, he was believed to have died from heart failure stemming from exhaustion.

A 13-year-old Chinese boy died falling from a building. His parents are suing Blizzard Entertainment, makers of World of Warcraft. The boy was allegedly re-enacting a scene from the game. In the Nevada, a couple ignored their two toddlers to the point of neglect due to their gaming addiction.

The children of Michael and Iana Straw, a boy age 22 months and a girl age 11 months, were severely malnourished and near death last month when doctors saw them after social workers took them to a hospital, authorities said. Both children are doing well and gaining weight in foster care.

Police said hospital staff had to shave the head of the girl because her hair was matted with cat urine. The 10-pound girl also had a mouth infection, dry skin and severe dehydration. Her brother had to be treated for starvation and a genital infection. His lack of muscle development caused him difficulty in walking, investigators said. The prosecutor said, “They had food; they just chose not to give it to their kids because they were too busy playing video games.”

Attorneys said the Reno couple was too distracted by online video games, mainly the fantasy role-playing “Dungeons & Dragons” series, to give their children proper care.

Up to 37% of men and 22% of women admit to having affairs. Researchers think the vast majority of the millions of people who visit chat rooms, have multiple "special friends" .

Lawyers also said that one-third of divorce litigation is caused by online affairs ("This Is An Internet E-Mergency", The Fortino Group).

Studies from China, Germany, Italy, Iran, Pakistan, and India have also documented cases of Internet addiction. Given the dramatic effects reported and studies on the consequences of compulsive use of the Internet, the question is "Do you think Internet addiction should be given the same status as other addictions?"

"The Prayer" - Give Us Faith So We'll Be Safe

Watch and listen to my most favorite prayer song, "The Prayer" - sang here by Josh Groban and Celine Dion.

"The Prayer"

I pray you'll be our eyes
And watch us where we go
And help us to be wise
In times when we don't know

Let this be our prayer
When we lose our way
Lead us to a place
Guide us with your Grace
To a place where we'll be safe
La luce che tu dai

I pray we'll find your light
Nel cuore restera
And hold it in our hearts
A ricordarci che
When stars go out each night
L'eterna stella sei
Nella mia preghiera
Let this be our prayer
Quanta fede c'e
When shadows fill our day
Lead us to a place
Guide us with your grace

Give us faith so we'll be safe.
Sogniamo un mondo senza piu violenza

Un mondo di giustizia e di speranza
Ognuno dia la mano al suo vicino
Simbolo di pace e di fraternita

La forza che ci dai
We ask that life be kind
E'il desiderio che
And watch us from above
Ognuno trovi amore
We hope each soul will find
Intorno e dentro a se
Another soul to love

Let this be our prayer
Let this be our prayer
Just like every child
Just like every child

Needs to find a place,
Guide us with your grace
Give us faith so we'll be safe
E la fede che
Hai acceso in noi
Sento che ci salvera

Let's have a healthy coffee break!

I'm a coffee lover. Each day, I drink cups of coffee during work and rest breaks.

Nutritionally and medically, my problem with regular coffee intake was that it caused acid reflux, headaches, and higher blood pressure. Since decaffeinated coffee is processed with chemicals and contains caffeine, it overstimulates my body system that affects my health.

Over a year ago, I was introduced to the "world's healthiest coffee." I loved the coffee, but I was not interested in sharing it to others. I was only a consumer. After drinking the coffee everyday for just several months, my body made some dramatic health improvements. Even when I was in severe life stresses, the miracle coffee helped my health so much.

In order to understand why this coffee helped my health so much, I started doing researches on Ganoderma Lucidum. I was overwhelmed with the independent medical studies that have been done on it all over the world. I read of physicians who read the medical studies and gave their opinion on it. I was amazed with the positive response. Most of all, I'm amazed by the testimonials of people all over the world who are being cured of even cancer, heart disease, diabetes, skin diseases, among others, as a result of taking in this healthy coffee with its ganoderma lucidum.

I invite you to have a healthy coffee break with me with the world's healthiest coffee ... that's doctor-approved!
